WannaRun 0 Posted April 8, 2011 I'm new to this site. I'm looking for somewhere to go when I need help. Everyone I know that has had bariatric surgery has had the bypass. Although somewhat similar but sometimes you need help from another band patient. Ive had the band for almost 2 months now anddoing well. My weight loss seems to be a little slow lately. Ive had my first adjustment 2 weeks ago and will be having another monday. I'm hoping that I'll be able to know when the adjustment is where it is supposed to be with the least about of trips to the office as possible. My only weakness is trying to figure out what machines to use at the gym or what kind of workouts should i be doing to get the best results. For those that has had the band for awhile is there a way to prevent sagging skin? Hope to get a lot of info from the discussions. Looking forward to the new and healthier me. MegaLou 0 Posted April 10, 2011 You're ahead of me--I don't have surgery until May 3. But I thought I'd share this. When discussing exercise with my dietitian, I mentioned how much I hate walking--anything but walking, which I find so boring! We talked about what I do like and when I told her I had a pool I enjoy, she was excited. She said they've found a remarkable improvement with skin issues with patients who swim or do Water exercise. I don't know if you have access to a gym, but you might want to try a Water aerobics class. Find a good one--some are pretty lazy, but you can get an energizer class that will really get your heart rate up, will provide resistance (from the water), and apparently help protect against loose skin. I don't know if it'll work, but I know I'll be in the water as soon as I'm cleared to be. I'm new to this site. I'm looking for somewhere to go when I need help.
