JWKJR 0 Posted April 7, 2011 Hello This in my introduction I am 49 390 lbs Married One son 12 years old I have fought weight my entire life I have a few short time frames where I was a “normal” weight. Marine Corps After USMC running 8 miles 5 days a week Phen-Phen and Gym for 90 mins 5 times a week But the majority of my life I have been morbidly obese, I started the band process 14 months ago I planned to submit for surgery 9/2010 In Aug 2010 the doctors admin person let me know I had not properly documented my required 6 months weight loss. I had not seen the doctor for six consecutive months. So I started that over.. Meanwhile my company was sold and I held my breath waiting to find out about new health insurance. It ended up being with same carrier. 2nd six months are up 2/2011. I go back to doctor. They can not find my file. Practice is going through divorce, The admin person (the main reason I was at the practice because of her reputation with insurance co submissions) is not staying with my doctor she is leaving. My submittal will be handled by a different person. She tells me to call in a few days to verify my records are found. I do and was told all was in order and they would submit. 3 week later I get a letter of denial. Reason? I have not meet any of the prerequisites. Why? Because none of my paper work was submitted. I get on the internet and find the office information for the doctor that left the practice. I call and arrange to have records moved to that doctor and back in the hands of the original admin person. She back tracks all missing documents and confirms they are on order. I received a call from her Tuesday and she explained to me that she had long discussion with carrier, reopened my case and faxed all the documents. Today I was called and told I was approved! Two day turn around time! I go in Monday for surgery date and to start 2 two week pre op diet. So I am on my way……
