Skechers Vs Reebok

Recommended Posts

in my personal and professional opinion, toning shoes are not good for the gait, balance and stability of your body. it's not a natural way of walking nor do they help tone much of anything

i mean, would you work out in heels or wear them all the time? because it's almost the same effect.

i've treated many people who wear these shoes then come to physical therapy because all of a sudden their hips hurt, or they have low back pain. i ask them what shoes they're wearing, and they bring in the skecher shape-ups blink.gif

they give you more momentum which can cause you to lose balance, increases range of motion at ankle which isn't necessarily a good thing

if you want a good walking shoe for everyday getting around, i recommend getting fitted for a Brooks brand shoe. and if you have problems with your feet, ankles, hips or knees, get fitted by an orthotist; generally custom shoe stores have an orthotist in-house.

I think the toning shoes should be avoided. They are designed to intentionally put you slightly off balance which is like asking for injuries in my opinion. I don't even like to watch people walking in them because it makes their gait so unstable, and they're not very effective if they're effective at all. Walking, jogging, or using the elliptical regularly will tone your legs up better than any shoes. My podiatrist recommends New Balance and Asics Gels running shoes for good support (even if they're not specifically going to be used for running).

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
