How many calories is right!!!

Recommended Posts

How many calories a day is every one eating? I've been eating between 600 to 900 a day but from what I'm reading that's not enough but my weight loss is doin ok i have lost about 25 kgs (55 lbs). I had surgery on 14/02/11. Oh and I had my 1st fill 2 weeks ago and it's helped a lot

i eat between 550 and 900 most days...there are days here and there when i splurge, but when i'm on point, that's the range where i am. i've lost 73 pounds in 6 months, so it's worked for me. i think everyone's body works differently, so if you're losing weight with 600-900 calories, and you're feeling satiated, stick with it!

I give myself a window between 800 -1200 calories a day. This way if I go over (SAY DO TO CAL. IN A SAUCE) I'm not kicking myself for it.

I don't go over 1200. Otherwise I don't worry about it.

Everyone's metabolism is different. After reaching my goal, I can lose 1/2 # /wk by avg. 1500 cals/week. I crave nothing.

I eat 1700 nowadays but started off eating 800-1000. There is no ONE answer; there is no ONE diet for anyone here. You need to test the waters, play with your calories, and find what works for you.

Like everyone has said, it's different for everyone. For me, if I am below 1,000 then I won't lose at all regardless of how much exercise I do. I try to keep my calories between 1,000-1,100

Yeh thanks I guess I will keep doin what I'm doin I'm also at the gym 3 days a week which would help, oh and yes I splurge probably once a week now and it hasn't affected much so it's become a very sustainable diet which is what I was after

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
