My first "blow out"

Recommended Posts

Ok, so nothing too severe (just 5 plain sweet biscuits, only about 200 calories) but just a good reminder that I am still susceptible to eating when stressed and must make efforts to find other ways to deal with it. Gosh they were goooood though, dunked in my coffee:heh:

I'm just SOOOOO over school holidays. 3 kids at home, no daycare for Eliza and I cannot do anything I want to do. We must have 20 children between the ages of 5 and 13 living in our end of the street and they are all driving me freaking insane. They are feral, absolutely feral. Today my son was down at a friend's and Fraser was in his room on the playstation with his mate from next door and STILL these kids were racing in and out my front door on the way through to the backyard and the trampoline. I look out the window, they're jumping all over the front garden, the door's going slam slam slam, there's fighting and screaming in the backyard and the little ones come in to me to sort it out. As if I give a flying you know what. They have also taken to exiting the backyard by climbing the tall picket fence thus breaking the fence, they track dirt and mud through the house, AAAAARGH. I have gone ballistic at them, told them to all bugger off and mess up their own houses, I have even spoken to the 2 sets of parents involved (who by the way will never let my kids into their houses to play) and nothing has been done.

I have an almost 3 year old who will not sleep due to the constant noise and who wants to be outside playing till 9.30 (its daylight savings here) with the big kids so whines and throws tantrums all evening.

It used to be a blessing living in this street, its such a young, family area but I just want to get the hell away from this area now. I hate it with a passion. I'd rather make the effort for my kids to have schoolfriends over rather than this constant stream of undisicplined feral children on my doorstep.

And to top it off Doug's decided that it's OK to go fishing every weekend, even though he went fishing with a friend for two weeks over Christmas and New Year so I"m here to deal with it all by myself.

Sorry for the vent, it just got to me today. And yes, I felt better after the coffee and the biscuits.

Sounds like a crazy mess. If it were me, I think I'd lock the door and let the kids knock on it if they want to come in. If they are jumping through your garden, ban them from the backyard for a week? Kids need to be trained on what's ok and not okay, and while positive reinforcement is good, sometimes negative reinforcement is needed. There's also the option of talking to the parents and saying something to the effect of "I don't mind them coming over, but you need to talk to them about their manners".

Hope you get a chance to relax soon!

Oh my, I would be a crazy woman also! Some kids are very aggressive..I had that problem. Kids would be in my back yard, playing when mine weren't even home! Finally, I said you must Always knock on the front door before playing. If we aren't home then, come back later. Put the new "rules" out front and stand by them. Tell them, if they aren't nice, then they need to leave for the remainder of the day. Also, no kids before (you set time) and after (you set time)....Tell them, that nap time is (blank)....Write it down on sheets of paper if you have tooo, for them and their parents. Post a sign on your door (Can Play or Can NOT play). You must somehow get ahold of your day or you will be bonkos!!!!!

and I thought MY house was a zoo....

My God Girl! You need to tell the neighborkids that your kids are punished - FOR EVER!

This is just for jokes, but I called a friend this morning to gripe and complain about the crack house across the street. Drug activity ALL the time! Anyway, her husband chimed in saying that I needed to go make a "purchase" with the dealer - to handle my home life (3 wild kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats and 1 husband)

MEN! They just dont get it.

Girl, get you some fence locks:lock1: , a pit bull, and a tazer gun:laser: !! That will solve a heck of a lot! (Make sure to use the tazer on the idiotic parents in your neighborhood!!!)

Just kidding, but wouldn't it be nice?!?!

Oh, by the way, I would take a chainsaw to the fishing poles:Banane26: or sell them and use the funds for my own "fishing" trip!!! Any great resorts in the area:ip: ?

My goddess! I would be nutters for sure. lol You poor dear. It must be beyond frustrating that these urchins will not abide by your rules. Maybe it's time for a move? *hugs* Either that or set out wild animal traps.

I love that you used the word "feral" to describe the kids!! I would be putting up an invisible fence and putting colars on all of the kids. What a nightmare for you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
