owocats 0 Posted April 6, 2011 How long does it take to get settled into a rountine? I am still having trouble controlling what I eat - it's almost like I never had the lapband surgery and I've already regurgitated several times because of this. I am trying to be conscious of what Im eating, choosing the right foods, and I know it's no excuse, I find myself slipping back into old habits and eating too fast, too much. How long does it take to learn self control and self monitoring? TIA, Missy
LapBandBobbi 8 Posted April 6, 2011 Once you get good restriction, that helps with control. For me, it was a slow process and sometimes I still think I can eat more than I actually can. Hang in there and listen to your body. If your body is telling you not to take another bite, then don't. You'll feel better in the long run.
owocats 0 Posted April 6, 2011 Im trying to listen to my body - its not easy when you've ignored it all these years. Ugh. One Big Lesson Learned.
HeatherinCA 10 Posted April 6, 2011 I feel pretty settled now, I've been banded about 4 months. It's more.. I just don't think about it as much anymore. I kinda know what I can eat and what I have to do, like not drink before meals, take my Vitamins, and drink my Water. But I mean, I'm always going to have to think about it. The world is working against me. Restaurants don't have healthy options, the grocery store is tempting, you just have to pay attention.
