slm2007 7 Posted April 6, 2011 I know there is a post on here somewhere that someone asked "What do I need after surgery" and I can't find it so I'm asking for myself. I need a list of recommendations. So far I have my shakes, crystal light, sf puddings, some cream Soups, popsicles, heating pad and gas-x strips. I also have my pain medication at home already. What else should I have....suggestions really, really welcome and appreciated. (freaking a little here but holding strong) Thanks - Staci
LapBandBobbi 8 Posted April 6, 2011 On thing I wish someone would have told me was to bring a pillow in the car for the ride home. Holding a pillow on your stomach will help with bumps along the route home. I had a 2 hour drive home that was not pleasant. Would I do it again..... ABSOLUTELY! Good Luck! merred 0 Posted April 6, 2011 Wow! You sound prepared! I had to send my husband out for everything after I got home. The one thing I really needed was help getting in and out of bed, so make sure you have someone with you. I've read about people who slept in their lazy boys so they could get up. I never realized how much I used my stomach muscles for everything until now. I felt the exact same way before I had it, excited and scared. I'm just about done with my liquid phase. Mushies start Friday. Good luck with your surgery!
vlp1968 83 Posted April 6, 2011 Bring lip balm to the hospital. You wont' be able to eat or drink anything until they do an xray and make sure everything is placed correctly. Your lips will get dry. Congrats on your impending surgery!

I would not have been able to make it without one! Dawn
