Is your band working for you?

Recommended Posts

I am almost 8 months out. I have lost 15 pounds (which was at the very beginning) but have not lost anything since. I have to be honest, I did not stick to the plan until very recently but I just do not feel like my band is even in me. I get so depressed when I see how much weight everyone else is losing. I am more than thrilled for those who have been successful, i just wish I could join you guys and say that I have lost a huge amount of weight. Does anyone else feel like it's not working for them? And for those of you have have been successful, what have you been doing!? Any response is more than appreciated! :)

Please don't beat yourself up over it. Sounds like we are kinda in the same boat. I lost 17 pounds my first week and that was the end of it and now I am 2 yrs post op. I did do everything that I was suppose to. I even got so aggravated that I got so tight, on purpose, that I could only drink good liquids thinking it would help me lose, nope, didn't work. I did get pregnant in Oct. 2010 so now there's not much I can do but wait till after the baby is born and get retightened but honestly, I'm miserable, emotionally and physically. I just can't get over how some people are dropping the weight when I do eat my Protein, I do drink my Protein drinks that are allowed, I do stay away from all t he 'bad' things. I mean I don't get it either. Hang in there though. There has to be a light at the end of the tunnel, for us both, I hope!

Is the band working for me??? Well I am losing weight about 37lbs in the past 7 mos but at what cost...

I cant eat solid foods I get stuck and vomit 2-4 times a day, I miss chewing as all I can eat is liquids.< /p>

So is the band working to help me lose weight I suppose so but am I satisfied with my life NO

37 pounds is awesome! It sounds like maybe you need an un-fill? At the beginning I was experiencing the same things as you-I went in and the did a teeeny unfill and it was the someone flipped a switch! I immediately felt better.

Well as i happy to hear I am not the only one, I am sorry that you have to go through this. I could imagine it would be even more frustrating if you've done everything and still no results. I have to be honest, this past week (literally since last Monday) I have eaten healthy. Just watched what I ate and how much. i exercised(30 min of cardio) 4 out of the 7 days and to my surprise I lost 7 pounds! Those 7 pounds were lost completely on my own. So yes I am happy that I've lost it but I have no restriction so I'm hoping as I get closer to restriction it will be a little easier...Since you're pregnant have you found that it is easier to control your weight with the band?

You're not alone... I am also 8 months post op and am just now starting to like the band. It's only in the past few weeks I've felt "restriction" and what the band is made to do. Up until now I was sure I made a huge mistake and wasted a lot of money.

I lost more weight pre-op than I have in the 8 months I've had the band... but am finally losing again and hope this is "it".

I'm so happy to hear you are finally feeling restriction!!! I wish I knew the feeling! lol What have you been doing to work it?

The band has worked very well for me. I think the key was getting to a good restriction level early in my journey. How many fills have you had?

I've had 3...and I do not feel any restriction...

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
