Why not make your own? Its thicker, lasts longer, has Vitamins and minerals and its all natural.

1 banana

5-6 strawberries

1/2c blueberries

1/2 orange

handful (1 cup) of baby spinach, you cant taste the spinach trust me)

1/2c Water and 4 ice cubes.

You will need quite some time to finish it. Mess with it and make it how you like it. Cut it in half if its too much. I love it and after 1.5 years out I drink it on a regular basis and it lasts longer than the Protein shakes.

Have a great day and good luck!smile.gif

I just tried the Syntha 6 shakes and thought they were pretty good. I bought a Protein Shake sampler from Netrition and it was in there- I liked the strawberry one best :)

I tried the strawberry one as well. I thought it tasted like Nestle quick strawberry and I really liked it!

Syntha 6 is good, but keep in mind it is truly meant for those weightlifting/doing strenuous exercise as it is not just whey Protein, it contains casein and isolate (I believe) as well. It tastes delicious but I wouldn't recommend it as an everyday shake for pleasure.

I like the ready made Premiere Protein Shakes from costco. They are 11 ounces, 160 calories, 30 grams of Protein. Most other protein shakes are higher in calories and have less protein. These aren't the best tasting ones, I like GNC powder too. But they are portable and the nutrition is totally worth it.

Never heard of the Synthra shakes. I do the EAS chocolate powder mixed with unsweetened almond milk - 25gm Protein and 4 carbs.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
