Houston TX Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Hi befree! I am going through True Results in Houston as well and I can tell you they have been absolutley AMAZING. They really care and help you with everything and make you feel SO comfortable, which with me is big because I didnt go to a doctor since 2007 because it makes me so uncomfortable. If you are paying out of pocket, you basically go to the seminar, do the blood work and ekg, and any other test they think you might need if they have a concern and then you are scheduled. Its quick!

Hi! I am new here  Seriously considering getting banded in Houston asap! I have researched docs and am leaning towards Dr. Reilly at True Results. Any suggestions or comments? I know my insurance won't cover - will have to pay out of pocket. How long does it usually take to get started w/o insurance? Good luck to you all!

I had great results at True Results here in Houston. The staff are kind and courteous. I just had my first fill and was treated very well then also.

Befree11.......

My surgeon is Dr. Reilly. I met him already for pre-op and he seems really nice.

My insurance doesn't cover, so I too am self-pay. You can apply for Care Credit financing, but TR doesn't offer 0% interest or no monthly payments, so keep that in mind....I was approved for the Care Credit (was told by TR office to apply just in case) and THEN found out they (TR) doesn't offer any special financing, so my mastercard will take the hit.

Anyway, best of luck to you!!! Keep in touch!!! My date is June 20!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
