dragonflies 7 Posted March 31, 2011 I am so bummed! I had to reschedule my surgery. Of course I get bronchitis the week before surgery!! Ugghhh!! Well, instead of being banded this Monday, April 4, I will have the surgery April 18th. More time to wallow in the pros & cons. Gotta think positive.

4x5 0 Posted April 1, 2011 Its WAY MUCH BETTER this way. Coughing the first week or so after surgery is a real bummer. Make sure you are done with residual coughs before doing this.

Tobeme 0 Posted April 1, 2011 Hope you feel better soon!!! Hi Elizabeth, I was wondering how you are feeling 17 days post op? I hope everything is going well. Your weight loss is great. Also, when did you go back to work after surgery? Thanks Paula
JAM2YOU 2 Posted April 1, 2011 Kayla, Take it from me who picked up something the day of my surgery and not being able to drink anything after surgery other then ice chips for the first 24 hours you don't want to go through with this with any underlying sickness. My surgery was on a Monday and by Tuesday when I got discharged I had full blown bronchitis and it SUCKED big time. I begged the dr. while in the hospital and they got me a bottle of spray chloraseptic but those first 24 hours until I was able to drink any fluids it was torture and it's my belief it made maybe just a sore throat turn into bronchitis. I'm almost two weeks out from surgery and i'm still coughing but feel much better and that was after my first post op appointment with the surgeon and also a visit to my family dr. to get something for the bronchitis. Be greatful you started your symptoms prior to surgery because it's no fun trying to recover and dealing with coughing constantly. I slept the first 6 days in a recliner for comfort sake but I know the bed would have been much more beneficial for my recovery. Get well soon and good luck when your day arrives. dragonflies 7 Posted April 2, 2011 Sorry to hear that you had to go through that. That sounds horrible! You're right, it is good that I got symptoms came before. Still sucks that I had already started the diet & everything though. The doc prescribed a Z-pack and I don't think it's working very well. I feel better than I did, but I thought these Z-packs were supposed to work wonders. Oh well, I have 2 more weeks to get better! Should be plenty of time. JAM2YOU 2 Posted April 3, 2011 I've never been a fan of the z-packs either. I've had no success with them and know now to tell my doctor up front that I don't want the z-pack because it doesn't do anything for me. Good luck with your recovery and keep positive. ElizabethNYC 1 Posted April 4, 2011 Hi Elizabeth, I was wondering how you are feeling 17 days post op? I hope everything is going well. Your weight loss is great. Also, when did you go back to work after surgery? Thanks Paula Hi Paula! I am feeling GREAT! I was having some minor shoulder gas pain but that's gone and some port site soreness but honestly as of right now that's pretty much gone as well. I had surgery on a Tuesday and I could of gone back to work by Monday but my surgeon made me wait until the following Monday (I really wasn't complaining). Hope that helped :-)
