Would you do this? Exercise question...

Recommended Posts

I'm having a hard time getting into an exercise routine. For one thing I just can't seem to find time. I have 3 kids and they never nap at the same time so it makes it difficult.

Anyway I know I NEED to exercise. I'm in college and I have to take (2) Physical Education courses. I can take something sedentary and easy like Bowling or I can take a real exercise class. They have one that gets you into a 2 mile a day walking routine and then another that will take you from walking into a 3 mile a day jogging/running routine.

Now If I take these once I start I CANT drop them or I'll lose money and my credits so I'm thinking that would keep me in check. Also I'd be able to do it without my kids around so that's another plus. My only drawback is what if everyone else in the class is thin, skinny and active? I'm not and I'm sure at first I will have a hard time keeping up plus I'm thinking about taking them in the hot summer months so that will make it even worse.

Would you do this? I think it's mostly a good idea..right?

I say do it. Who cares if everyone else is "skinny?" You're doing it to GET skinny, and I doubt everyone in the class will be stick thin. I say go for it as I'm sure it will boost your loss. Exercise is key to weight-loss, in my opinion, and if you can do it alone/away from the kids, go for it.

Oh yes... I'd do it. I agree who cares about the rest. Remember, you are doing it for YOU!

Hate to say it , the skinnies are not taking the 2 mile course , that's easy for them , so you will be fine and have fun doing it , quite time

I would do it too. Some college offer online or classes where you do the exercising on tour own time and do something like bi weekly checking on your weight ad strength etc. That may be a good option for you if it is available and you can do it b

Just as you're thinking about what everyone else will think about you - everyone else is thinking about what everyone else will think about them.

Don't worry about it. Do it for you. Learn from the others in the class.

I don't know how large your college is, but if it's a small one, could you go and talk to the instructor before signing up. Maybe that would help you make up your mind.

You don't know if they're all skinny. They both sound like beginner's classes, so there's probably lots of people trying to get into shape. Also remember that skinny does not always equal in shape, so you may be in the same fitness position as them. I'd say go for it. You might even meet some really great people who could become your workout buddies.

Back in the 70s when I was in college, I was on the intercollegiate volleyball team and cheerleading squad, so I was exempted from the physical education requirement. I quit college, got married, had kids, got divorced, and then went back ten years later to finish my degree at a different college. They said I had to make up the Physical Education requirement. I was mortified! This was the 80s, big hair,.tight leggings, and there I was, a thirtysomething single mom with 2 babies and all of the fat that came with the pregnancies, trying to make it through a phys ed class full of svelte 18-20 year olds. It wasn't as bad as I thought. Although none were exactly happy to have me on their team, they were kind and civil and never made me feel like an outcast.

Today there are many more older people in college - I just graduated with my master's degree at age 52 - and it's so much more common for there to be a large range of ages in every class. So I say don't sweat it (pun intended). Take your class with a smile on your face that makes them wonder just what you're thinking.

Well... you don't have much weight to lose according to your Ticker.

So go and kick some skinny butts, and in time, they will see you getting into good shape, and wondering how is she doing that?

While they basically stay the same.

I'm sure you would make a lot of us Bandsters Proud.

Wish you luck on your Decision.

AND GO KICK SOME ASS !

My son had to take a Phys Ed course for college as well. My son is about 6'3" and 340 pounds. He LOVED taking the Phys Ed class. Only class he got an A in. LOL He didn't care about his weight, just that he really enjoyed it and got a lot out of it.

Also, remember, just because someone is skinny does NOT mean they are in shape. They could be heavy smokers or more sedentary than you believe you are!

Have fun and even if it is paid for forced excercise, you are doing it!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
