I never actually considered the 5 week projection as relevant. It was based on repeating that particular day's diet and exercise every day for the next five weeks to obtain the projection. My diet and exercise changed every day and subsequently, so did the projection. Plus, my weight came off slowly and never in the amount indicated by the projections anyway.

It just started doing that to me this week too! I agree that it's a bummer. I liked seeing that 5-week projection - even if it may not have been accurate it was a nice way to reinforce that I'd had a good day. I wonder if that starts in after a certain period of logging low calories? I wish I could reset it... alas. we will indeed be even more wonderful and beautiful 5 weeks from now!

I noticed that change, too. I wonder if it's if you get WAY below the 1200 or so they think everyone should be on? I only get around 600-800 a day so I used to get the projection and the "starvation mode" warnings but now just that warning.

Nope. I has a "close" day yesterday and it still didn't do the projection.

@@safemancsp just added you. welcome to the forum. when are you looking at surgery?

I just started the process with my surgeon the day before yesterday. My insurance company (Aetna) requires 3 months of supervised diet prior to giving approval. So, I am looking at probably mid to late January before I will have surgery.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
