Well my LapBand Surgery is 2 weeks from today. I started my 2 week liquid diet yesterday. I have been trying to have something every 2 hrs. I've been drinking Protein Shakes, eating Jello and puddings.

I just finished a Protein Shake but I am starving!!!!!!

I feel like I could eat the computer if I could.... LOL

Funny! I felt the same way today. I dont really need to do a pre-diet, but wanted to start one anyway. I started today with Protein Shakes and no carb things like chicken and cheese in a lettuce wrap. I am going to work my way to doing all Protein shakes about 10 days to the surgery. We will see how it goes. I put some timers on my phone for every three hours and am trying to eat at those times only. I am also trying to eat only 4 oz at a time except for the Protein Shakes, which i think are 8 oz. The nutritionist said that we should be trying to eat less because right after the surgery you will only be able to eat about 2-3 oz at a time and then gradually build up.

Its soooo hard sometimes...

I feel your pain. I am 5 days post op only Clear Liquids. It's been almost a week since I've had "real" food. During dinner tonight I had to leave and go for a walk There are only so many ways to be creative with popcicles, Jello, gatorade, Water, crystal light, juice etc. Good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
