Didn't get the job :(

Recommended Posts

I'm sort of sad today... I just found out that I didn't get the job I really thought I'd get:think The "other guy" got it. I really like the job I have now though so I'm sort of ok with it. This job was in the same division but a different department than I currently work in. Right now I do web design, which I love, but this job was designing multimedia applications for online courses which is a much better fit for me. Oh well, I guess there's always next time! Just needed to commiserate with someone.

Ah - I'm sorry you didn't get the job! At least you love doing web design - you could be doing something you really didn't like! I like web design, too... takes talent and creativity to do it well. Be happy - all things happen for a reason :-).

That really stinks...but...the right fit will come along and you'll be glad you didn't settle!! Sounds like a cool career field! My brother programs medical applications for a cancer research center, my husbands programs robots, and I chat on LBT! Maybe I should learn some new skills!!

Don't worry, that better opportunity will come along soon!!!

Jobs come and go the key is there is a right time Just wait you'll see in a few months you'll think WOW am I glad I didn't get that job. Something better always comes along. I always take it personal when I don't get a job or don't get invited to something or think I am worthless BLAH YADA but that is me. I connect my esteem to everthing. You did not necessarily get the job cause you can't do it often there is soemthing in the mix or it's something bigger than us.

Keep on truckin

That "perfect" job will come along for you.

Keep you chin up!

Big Hugs!

I really believe that, Kim. Not to wax religious on you guys, but I was praying the other night for some comfort and realized that I have some other purpose somewhere. I'll just have to wait and see what that is. Thanks for the support!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
