BgB9 9 Posted March 22, 2011 I haven't had a fill in quite a long time. Also haven't lost weight in a year and have been eating around my band. Starting to get my food choices back on track but have a question about the band. I notice restriction when I eat. If I eat too fast or don't chew well, it will get stuck and come back. But I can eat a relatively large volume of food, like more than 2 cups. Should I just get a fill or go on liquids for a few days?
arthukd 1 Posted March 25, 2011 I would be extremely careful eating too much. I just found out this week that my band slipped and the doc said any number of things could have caused it and it wasn't necessarily something i did, but I know I was eating too much. A part of me feels like this is my fault for not following the instructions and I have learned an extremely important lesson. I will be having surgery in 3 weeks to correct the slip. I have not found out yet if insurance will cover the procedure (I was self pay for the lapband). My sister also has the lap band and has had it for about 5 years or so. I just had mine last year. She had a similar issue to yours and told the doc and he said you should not let becoming full be an indicator of when to stop eating. That you should limit your portions to 1 cup. If you are still hungry after 20 mins, than you should get an adjustment, but eating more than a cup can cause complications.
