I lost 3.4 lbs after day 1, but I'm feeling somewhat weak and lightheaded this morning at work. How long before that passes?

I started my pre-op diet on Monday (the 21st), but mine is supposed to be all liquid. They want it to be all of their Protein Shakes, but thats just not going to happen. I dont like the flavor, and they make me constantly cold. Besides, im a salt person more than a sweet person. I have been having Soup broth and eggs (low carb, right?) to add in at least a little texture. Today is day 3 for me and im still hungry all the time, but I have read that it gets easier. You seem to be on the same time frame as me, so lets encourage eachother!!

Yeah, I'm not sure I could handle all Protein shakes. I would need some kind of variety in the type of Protein. At least I am allowed to change things up. I am going to go to the grocery store after work and take advantage of my freebies, especially the celery. That will be my hunger snack going forward. Celery with 1 TBSP of fat-free ranch dressing sounds pretty good mid-morning or mid-afternoon. Good luck to you.

I started my pre-op diet on the 17th.... I am on strictly liquids...This liquid diet has been and up and down emotional rollercoster for me. The first 4 days went by and I was okay, but once I hit day 5 I strarted feeling really emotional (crying for no reason at all) I have no idea why... I am currently working and going to school full-time... I don't know if this has something to do with it or not. It could be that I am on the move constantly and only having liquids.... However, I wrote to encourage you guys to keep up the hard work I now have 7 more days to go... I'm half way there... now when I get hungry I drink Soup or a Protein Shake and the hunger pains go away. The way I kinda see it is I have eaten enough in my life time... it's time to take my life back.... I want to eat to live not live to eat... Be encouraged....God Bless you all March bansters!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
