ElfiePoo 109 Posted March 22, 2011 Why do you think you can't have cinnamon? .
Catherine55 43 Posted March 22, 2011 Whaaa? I've never heard of any doctor with that rule. But, as your doctor. That said, I have cinnamon all the time. I eat oatmeal with cinnamon for Breakfast a few times a week! Catheirne
reverie 49 Posted March 22, 2011 Why couldn't you? I dump cinnamon in my oats, toast, etc. Emphasis on dump too. I love cinnamon! It may even help your metabolism.
utopianaurora 1 Posted March 22, 2011 I was reading on one of the lap band websites and it said many people can't eat cinnamon, spicy foods, etc, etc.
ElfiePoo 109 Posted March 22, 2011 ok...not sure why you think you can't have cinnamon. I wouldn't classify it as a 'spicy' spice like chili powder and it actually has some benefits for people with sugar issues. 1/4 tsp of cinnamon can have a dramatic difference on blood sugar. One of the things that helps me stay off insulin now is that I put 1/4 tsp of cinnamon in my tea in the morning since my morning sugar does tend to be a bit higher. Works every time. . HeatherinCA 10 Posted March 22, 2011 I used to read stuff about "eroding the band" but it's on the outside of your stomach... I don't see why any food should be a problem with the band, unless it gets stuck
