Hi!!, I was banded march 8 and i just made 18 not long ago...i've healed pretty fast and my appetite has kicked in. I've kind of moved into the 3 stage and 4 stage kind of early. Will this effect me in a negative way? I feel fine and back to the way i was before surgery, and I really need some advice.

It will not effect you in a negative way. There are some doctors who have patients eating normal food very shortly after surgery. But, I would urge you to go back and follow your dr post op plan. You want to give your stomach time to heal. Also I feel the post op diet helped me continue to eat better in the long rin

You may "feel" like your back to normal but you did have surgery just a couple weeks ago. I would reccomend going back to your doctors plan....I did start my mushies and solids a few days early and I didnt have any issues but be careful with solids until your really healed...even though it may not effect you, now is the time to start getting yourself disciplined and prepared for when you really need to follow the rules! Good luck!

I would stick to whatever plan your doctor has given you. The first few weeks after surgery really difficult, hunger wise. I felt like I was hungry most of the time, but I stuck to my doctors plan and it's really paid off.

Please go back to your doctors orders ASAP. You are only 12 days out from surgery. At that point I was still on full liquids.< /p>

Even though you feel normal, the band is attached to the outside of your stomach by stitches. Eventually scar tissue forms as well and this holds your band firmly in place. The reasoning behind liquids and mushies is to avoid your stomach having to work vigorously to churn your meal up - which means that the stitches and the scar tissue get a chance to heal and cement the band in place, rather than risking breaking stiches and such by eating solids.

You can eat solids, they can go through and you feel fine at this stage, but you're placing yourself at risk for slippage further down the track. So you're doing the right thing getting back on trace. And even though some doctors allow their patients to eat solids earlier than others, obviously there's risk involved in that and the longer you go, probably the better.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
