I just got my band on Thursday! It all happened really fast, kind of unexpected that it went so quickly, I am excited to be underway! I am having some pain in my neck and shoulders, but hopefully with some more walking around that will subside. Just wondering how it is going for everyone else?

I was banded on 3/15/2011 and I am fine, that was tuesday and i have not been hungry yet, today is saturday. It has been hard for me to get all my Protein Shakes in, no appetite to want to eat. The hernia repair was the worst, no real gas. I do have a lump in my arm after an iv was pulled out going to get it checked tomorrow. Wondering what will be the next step in this lapband. I had mine done about an hr away from where i live, so im wondering how many trips to that area will i have to make??? and were you in alot of pain afterwards? Did they tell you how your diet will be for the first few weeks? Hope all continues to go well after your surgury and wishing you, many, pounds away!!!!!

I have been hungry off and on, but with all the pain in my shoulders I have been reluctant to eat much. trying to avoid any more pressure, though I know I have to eat. I'm on a 48 hour clear liquid diet then I get to have thicker liquids for about 14 days. Then I will begin to add more foods in the following weeks. But right now I just really hurt, the gas pains, not the incision sight. Hope things continue to go well for you.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
