Hi!

I just found this forum today and it couldn't have happened at a better time.

I met with a surgeon yesterday to talk about the band and the surgery ect. He answered all my questions but there is one I forgot to ask. Maybe someone here can help me.

I know with gastric bypass there is usually a lot of loose skin left after the fast weight loss. Has anyone experienced that with the band??

Thanks in advance for your help!

:welcomeB: I think each person is different. It depends a lot on how much weight you have to lose, your age, your skin, so there is no one answer to that question.

Welcome to LBT!!

I have been told that the loose skin is affected by how much you have to lose, how fast you lose the weight and your age/skin elasticity.

It's really too individual to give you a firm answer...

Hope it all works out for you.

:]

I think the amount of weight you have to lose is a major factor as well as the age and amount of elasticity left in the skin, but it's worth the sag to be healthier and happier.

I see. LOL That sounds disgusting! One thing I hate more than anything is puking. That's about all that freaks me out about banding.

This is something I have been thinking about doing for a long time now. Just recently (Monday) I met with a doctor to discuss surgery, risks, expectations, etc. I am certain that I want to go ahead with the surgery. Now I just need to find the doctor that is best for me! I really liked the one I met with this week but I have a few different doctors in my area (Denver) so I am trying to check them all out.

In the short time I have joined this forum I have learned so much from all of you. This is such a great place for support and everyone seems so helful and kind. I look forward to getting to know you!!
