Classix 0 Posted March 18, 2011 Hi, I am new here. I have arthritis of the hip and am too young for surgery. I have been seriously considering being banded to help control my weight, therefore removing pressure from the joints. I am wondering if anybody has found that losing the weight has helped them with arthritis pain. I am 46 and weigh around 85 kilos. I am already in contact with a clinic, and might possibly be done middle of April. Thanks xxx
TKW 501 Posted March 18, 2011 I had terrible hip pain, whether it is arthritis or not I don't know. I also had a knee that bothered me alot. I was sitting a home last night and all of a sudden I realized.... my knee doesn't hurt any more. NOT AT ALL! And I have noticed for quite some time that my hip bothers me a lot less too! I really have no pain in my hip anymore except some nights when I go to bed, but it doesn't bother me all day and I go to the gym daily and it never bothers me while working out. It's a great thing!!!
