keepbreathing1211 0 Posted March 15, 2011 I'm a 20 year old female from CT and I just decided that I'm going to look into getting the lap band. I've been over weight all my life and not only has my health declined, but so has my self esteem. I've tried typical dieting and exercise, medi fast, diet pills, but nothing worked for me. I would like to lose 100 lbs and finally get my life started. Being over weight has caused me to be depressed to the point where I do not even want to leave my home for days at a time due to embarrassment for how I look. I'm tired of living my life this way and I'm going to my first seminar this Saturday. I'm not sure what to expect and I'm very nervous. I hope the seminar goes well and I can take the next step to make an appointment with a doctor.

I have been looking into the band for around 2-3 years now but i was to young and the surgeon would not do it. but now i am having it and am excited for the changes it will bring. Good luck at your seminar, let me know how it goes

laura5127 1 Posted March 15, 2011 Thanx Well just over a week ago i started a pre-op diet (it sux) it consists of 3 liquid shakes and 1/2C steamed vegies a day. I have to lose 3kg by tuesday im down about 1-2kg now so i got a bit more to go. Trying to eat slower and not drinking 30min before and after eating cos my doctor said i wont be able to drink with meals after the surgery. I have been through several sessions with the psycologist and dietician to make it easier for me to know my limits after surgery. Im a bit not sure at the moment about whats happening, im aying for 3/4 of the surgery myself and my insurance is paying the restg but they are messing me about so im not a hundred % sure if everything will go ahead as scheduled. hopefully i'll findout tomorrow.
