The psych eval is the easy part! I was all worried when I went but soon realized I was stressing over nothing! Though to be fair I did really dislike my psych as he kept stressing how I could die from surgery, haha. I could have also died driving to see him. :P

OMG, I cant believe he would say that, what a butthead. My lady was really nice. She said I passed :) Now only a week till my appt with the doc. How did you handle the waiting. Ive decided i am a very impatient person. :)

Psych eval was easy peezie....nothing to stress about. She just pretty much talked to me about noticing the signs of depression and how I would deal with depression. She did ask me if I heard voices, which I thought was funny. I asked her if having conversations with myself counted....she laughed. Nothing to worry about unless you tell her that you talk to invisable clowns, and they tell you to do bad things, you'll be fine. She told me while in her office that she was going to approve me for surgery so there was no waiting and wondering. Good luck and don't worry.

Best of luck to you!! Yes it was easy. I was asked a lot of questions and had to take a multiple choice test that was over 160 questions. It went pretty fast though.

Elizabeth,

I see you just had surgery 2-days ago and wanted to see how you made out? Very excited for you, must be a huge relief to have it done.

My phych eval was probably the easiest thing I did. Good luck!!! It's pretty simple just be honest.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
