Please remember me in your prayers. I go in for my surgery at 7:30 am. Spent today buying all of my "outstanding" liquids I'll be drinking for the first week...lol. I'm not nervous about the surgery yet, but I'm sure anxiety will hit later tonight and in the morning. I truly hope tomorrow is the beginning of a new life for me!!!

Congrats steven!!! I was also banded today (the 15th)...I think there were a lot of us. My pain is mostly in my left side, below my ribs (leftover surgical gas?) but otherwise it's not too bad. I've started having some discomfort between my shouldr blades, also likely the trapped gas. My incisions aren't too bad except my port incision keeps oozing. I've been able to get down broth, milk, Tomato Soup, yogurt and am working on apple juice now. I can seem to tell if I've over done it with a pain in my chest, so just stop for a bit and let things sit. Also I've been a bit belchy and that helps relieve that pain.

I'm so excited to adjust to this new lifestyle!!!

Congrats again to you, me, and all of us March bandsters! :-)

Mine was good thank you. All done still pretty sore but feeling better from yesterday. Hoping to get out later and take a walk around the block since it's so nice out. Stomach is still pretty swollen so I refuse to get on a scale just yet. Hope you're all feeling good!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
