ShrinkyDinkyDoo 2 Posted March 14, 2011 Ok, so today is my official start of the two week pre op liquid diet. Shrinking the Ole' liver. How can I make this better for myself? And why does my surgeon require full liquid, shakes only, when I read others pages that say they can still have food as long as its low carb? I want to make this as easy for the surgeon who is going to be digging around in my belly as possible, but I feel like im being punnished. I HATE Protein Shakes. (Well, at least the Bariatric Advantage ones!!) Does anyone have any recomendations?

(Well, at least the Bariatric Advantage ones!!) Does anyone have any recomendations? Everyone's pre-op diet is different. Some surgeons allow their patients a low carb meal, some do strictly liquids. I was on liquids for 2 weeks so I know your pain. I'm not sure it's punishment, I just saw it as something I had to do to be ready for surgery. I wasn't a big fan of Protein Shakes but I have started using them again as a pre-workout meal. I like Muscle Milk Light, Labrada Lean body on the go, Syntha X, Xtreme Formulations, and BSN Lean Dessert. Try using milk or heavy whipping cream as opposed to water; helps a bit. Good luck! Lady_Dragyn 2 Posted March 14, 2011 I use the EAS AdvantEDGE Carb Control ones and they are the better tasting of the 2 or 3 I tried and have been using them for quite sometime. Just don't dump them out of the container (I buy premix, I'm lazy at 5am) as they have some chunks in the bottom that make me icky if I see them. Don't notice them when I just drink it out of the container. My favorite is the Rich Dark chocolate, but all of them aren't bad. Good Luck!
