Well truthfully a day early but I had my first soft meal tonight! (If I had any more Soup I would have exploded LOL) I had some grilled haddock, a spoonful of mashed sweet potatoe, and 3 small mashed brussell sprouts. Here are my questions:

Is it normal to feel a little weird in the stomach when you are first trying new foods (kinda like you feel it going in).

So far everything seems to have gone down okay...but if there was going to be an issue...how soon would I know?

On the upside (without a fill yet), I actually feel full after 1/2 cup!

I felt the same way... even now at almost 10 months post op... I sometimes feel that same sensation. It depends on the time of day and the type of food but I can literally feel it going down. I only have 5 cc's in an 11 cc band so I would not say I am tight. I can eat most foods without any problem but any dry, dense meat will not work and I have not tried bread yet. Hope this info is helpful for you.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
