Centennial Center For The Treatment Of Obesity?

Anyone gone there? I'm in Birmingham, AL and I'm having a hard time finding a fill doc for the mexican banded (I know, I know... I should've done that beforehand) and I heard they did. Any info is appreciated! ;-)

I see Dr. Houston for my fills. He's the only one that I know of that will fill patients that were banded in Mexico in this area. I have two friends that drive from Huntsville to Nashville for fills because they can't find anyone in Alabama that will give adjustments if you were banded in Mexico.

Stephanie,

I would call his office and ask to speak with Gina Elkins. She arranges all of the fill appointments and can give you a breakdown on price. He sees you in his office, then you go a block away to Centennial Hospital for your fill using Flouro. http://www.cmcwls.com/houston.php

Hope this helps! Good luck! :)

Dr Morton at Baptist(Nashville) is my doctor and while I was in there one day he was mentioning to his nurse the girl before me had hers done in Mexico so he must see patients that had them done in Mexico. Good luck it is just an option for you to try, I can't tell you for sure but that is what I heard him saying.

That's good to know.

How long has Dr. Morton been at Baptist? I remember him being at Southern Hills

I was banded by Dr Houston at Centennial center for the treatment of obesity - it was a great experience. I lost 30lbs in my first 5 weeks. Already had my first fill but do not feel much restriction. He added 2cc to my 10cc band.

I do recommend him.

Oh, and his secretary was banded too so she know how to help. All I need now is to find support groups.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
