Question about Slime or Sliming...

I did a search for sliming but I didn't find exactly what I'm looking for.

Sometimes I get the slime but I don't really feel stuck. I'm not in pain I just have slime.

Does that mean I've over eaten or I am slightly stuck and don't realize it? In that situation is it better to give it time and let it pass or just throw up?

I know when I'm stuck I feel better if I throw up so I do it and get it over with but what do I do when I'm just sliming?

I can't help you with the 'full' because my band doesn't physically restrict how much I can eat...but the sliming does occur when you're stuck and you can be 'slightly' stuck without actually feeling like you are. In cases like that, I usually will take a *tiny* sip of hot Water because it will generally either loosen the band enough for the slime to pass through...or cause the slime to come rebounding back up. At least in my case, when I've slimed, that slime just doesn't seem to want to go through. Don't know why but I've patiently waited and it wouldn't, so I resorted to the hot water.

It sounds like it could be either one, slightly stuck or you ate one bite too many. IMHO in that situation it would be better to wait it out. Throwing up should be avoided if you can because it can cause your band to slip. Even when people refer to throwing up as PBing, there is still a risk of a slip.

At the first sign of 'slimming', I usually excuse my self and take a short walk, maybe towards the rest room. Walking seems to help get the 'slime' thru. The hot liquid idea also helps relax the 'band' area relax.

I always try to wait it out. I only get it over with and throw up if I'm in significant pain and it's pretty obvious that it's not going to resolve by waiting. My nut (who is banded) and pretty much everyone else at my surgeon's practice told me to avoid doing anything that causes the stomach to "wretch" because of the slip factor. The repeated wretching can lead to a slip. It does worry me, so after an episode, I try to slow down and remember the rules about slow eating and little bites chewed to mush.
