PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased the Bell Plantation powdered Peanut Butter. I had really high hopes for it as so many people here love it. My jar of PB2 tastes more like whey Protein than PB. I mixed it with milk and yogurt (separately) but had no luck, and at $7 a jar, I really want to make it work. Help please!!! :P

Hey KAB...One of my favorite recipes to use PB 2 in is a chicken Thai stirfry dish.

Just take about a lbs of chicken (dark or white meat) and dice and saute in a little olive oil. Add about a tsp of minced garlic, stirfy veggies, 1/8 cup lite soy sauce, 1/2 onion either diced or strips, and add a couple of tablespoons of PB 2 to the mix. It gives it such a nice flavor.

I also use PB 2 in a lot of my Protein Shakes.< /span>

Hope this helps

i use it in my Protein shakes...that's all i really use it for, but it bumps up my Protein Shakes to 30g and helps me get in the protein i need each day. it does need to be stirred several times before i finish it, or it'll settle to the bottom; i've been using it for several months and appreciate the Peanut Butter flavor in my shakes.< /p>

I also use the powder in my steel cut oats. I make up a big batch of them and freeze in serving sized dishes. I take them out the night prior to using and add the powder, raisins, chopped dates, etc.

I don't think addinging it to milk or plain yoghurt would taste that good. When I do add it to Protein Shakes I add splendra. I don't think PB2 contains any sweetener so it's just peanut powder. Since PB2 is defatted peanut dust it's not going to taste all that great by itself. As they say fat is where the flavor is! My sister who is not banded spreads jam on a piece of bread and then sprinkles PB2 on the jelly. She thinks it's okay I've never tried it that way.

I can't eat it like regular PB but I do like to mix it in things. I really like it stirred into vanilla yogurt. I use about 3 TBL and it makes it thick and tastes like a mousse.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
