I use the myfitnesspal app for my iPhone, but you can do it online too. I am doing about 1200 cal a day right now. I am 4 weeks our and on reg food. Have a fill in 2 weeks so will prob decrease my cals some then. But I am losing so I guess it us working. I Ike this app a lot. I have yet to find a food if doesn't have listed. I can pit in my exercise too and it tells me how many cal I burned. And it tracks your nutrition too so I always know how many grams of Protein I am getting, Vitamins, Fiber etc. And when you close out your day at night it tells you how much you will lose in 5 weeks if you continue to eat like you did that day. Which can be a good reality check. Especially if you are like me and slip up and eat crap on occasion. Try it out!

I get my calories info from calorie king, and I journal it in a 5 subject notebook. This way my surgeon can go threw it, and see how I am doing.

I use the application on "My lap-band Journey" It is the same as Fit-Day.

It tracks my calories, fittness (calories burned) fiber, protien... the works!

I also use My Fitness Pal app. I am glad I started using a food journal. It was a reality check to see how much calories there actually are in foods i used to think were somewhat healthy. I really like the fact eveything is counted for you with the application. It makes it easy to keep on track.

I'm tracking my food, calories, and exercise on the droid using the Calorie Counter app. It's GREAT!!! It even has a scanner to scan packaged food. Really cool.

I use myfitnesspal & love it!

All my Protein powders, Vitamins & exercises are all in there. so easy - and like others have posted - tracking food everyday is a major reality check. Having the app on my phone makes it really quick to record everything. I consider this to be one my keys to success.

good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
