Jim in MA 1 Posted March 9, 2011 To all of you on the verge of having your bands placed soon, I write to you from the hospital I had mine put in earlier this morning. I assure you that my experience thus far has been pleasant. I'm in zero pain. A bit of gas remains from the carbon dioxide that is put in your abdominal cavity, but I'm doing well. Ice chips are my best friend! LOL! Tomorrow, clear broth! Anyhow...have no fear fellow future Bandsters....take it from me, it's a walk in the park! 1 Kristi Twisti reacted to this

rhino 1 Posted March 10, 2011 Congratulations on your surgery. I had mine Monday and I was on the computer emailing family not to long after getting to my room as well. Good luck on your adventure and thanks for sharing. One of the things that pushed me into finally making the decision was being able to read about real people having the procedure and their results. littledutchee 0 Posted March 10, 2011 Thanks Jim for the info!! That is reassuring. I am having my surgery first thing tomorrow am. I have to be at the hospital at 6:45am!! ughhhh....early!! I have a lot of emotions goin gon right now, like I am sure many people do. I am excited, nervous, scared, unsure, & certain all at one time. I am in disbelief that the day has finally arrived. One thing that I wonder is will I always feel like I have "something" in my stomach, or do I not even notice the lapband? Probably sounds like a crazy question! I am glad you are doing so well! Keep up the great work and speedy recovery.
Jim in MA 1 Posted March 10, 2011 Glad my words have helped out many. I'm home as of this morning. No pain, best way I can describe how feel post op, a bit of indigestion feeling. I am hungry though. I'm hoping once I can tolerate real food, the real hunger pains will subside. There's lots of swelling that I could see on my barium swallow this morning, which thankfully will subside. Overall, I feel great. It's actually quite a surprising feeling. Good luck with your progress as well.
