mattie7632 24 Posted March 9, 2011 Question on getting stuck: Does this or can this occur if you are not fully restricted or at sweet spot yet? Because this happens to me occasionally but I don't feel that I'm near optimal fill level yet. Thanks guys
JJLaw08 4 Posted March 9, 2011 I believe it can even though it never happened to me. I was a few fills in before I started getting food stuck.
reverie 49 Posted March 9, 2011 Yep! Too big of bites and/or not chewing enough. I get it sometimes when I'm not paying attention.
AquarianCrab 8 Posted March 9, 2011 Sure can. I'm only 8 weeks out and haven't had a fill yet. Mom made some clam chowder and if you love clams, you know how hard they are to chew into small pieces. In fact, you can't. You have to chop 'em up before you cook 'em. Anyway, the clams were chopped so I thought I'd be okay. Wrong! I was in pain for about an hour. Dave_NW 92 Posted March 9, 2011 I'm at 7.2cc in a 14cc band, and I get stuck occasionally, most often after eating broccoli, no matter how it's cooked. Go figure... Dave
honk 780 Posted March 9, 2011 Ahh yes. I have gotten stuck on realllly dry chicken breast (I eat most chicken so this was strickly a texture issue); and baby carrots. The carrots I was super hungry and did'nt chew them enough. This happened to me several fill levels.
Jachut 487 Posted March 9, 2011 Yep, it can. I got stuck and pb'd about a week ago on ham and salad in a large bread roll and I have no fill. Have had my band for 5 years, have been unfilled 4 months, so there's no swelling, no post op adjustment, no learning to eat, it just happened. I was having a coffee at the same time, and I guess bread + liquid still swells up in your tummy and I guess even an unfilled band does create a bit of a pouch. Before I knew it, I was sliming and had to go and bring it up. Lisa99 1 Posted March 9, 2011 definitely. I've had no fill for the last two years and still make sure I know where the restroom is when we go to a new restaurant.
