angel2a2 0 Posted March 8, 2011 Hi There, My name is Angela. I was banded in August 2010. I have not lost any weight. I have been having metabolism problems. My metabolism is very, very slow so it is very difficult for me to lose weight . In fact, I have been put on Primatene to speed up my metabolism and L-Carnatene to help build muscle because my muscle mass is low. But, still no weight loss. I am frustrated beyond anything explainable. The doctor doesn't want me to exercise very hard because my muscle mass is already low to begin with and he doesn't want me to burn any more of it. Does anyone have ideas or thoughts about this issue? Is anyone else going through this too? Angela
reverie 49 Posted March 8, 2011 What are your Protein levels like? Lifting weights while eating your bodyweight in protein (1g per lb) most definitely wont result in muscle loss.

Maybe try upping it to 100g+ and do some weightlifting. Avoid cardio but weightlifting will help you gain muscle. Even starting off light helps.
