Hi:

There are two things I can think of trying. First, change the foods you are eating. Still make good choices, but make different ones. I don't know how this gets someone out of a stall in their weight loss, but sometimes it does. Second, write down everything that hits your lips for a day or two and see how many calories you're actually taking in.

Sounds like you're doing great! Congratulations.

Sue

How many calories are you eating? It seems that you're pretty active, so your calories need to reflect that. If your calories are low, try bumping them up a bit. Scary but the more active you are the more calories you need.

Also keep in mind that you've lost a good amount of weight (congrats!!) and your body may be adjusting. I can tell you that first hand this does happen at times. Right now I have been stuck at 132-134 for the last 2 going on 3 weeks, but my jeans are getting looser. Sometimes you lose inches rather than pounds; remember that as well.

Good luck!

You can use websites such as fitday.com or myfitnesspal.com to track what you eat to get a rough estimate of how many calories, carbs, and Protein you're taking in each day.

its hard to do that up in camp like for example for Breakfast the only okay options i have is fruit and eggs lol otherwise its bacon and sausage and crap lol, dinner is better with more options so ill definetly try mixing it up, and between the hours of 6am and 5pm i dont eat at all cause i sleep and then get up and workout then eat supper, throught the night i grab a bite here and there whever i have time, its hard. Thanks for the advise i hope we can keep talking!1

To check your calories is a excellent idea. I use to do between 900 - 1200 a day.

When you first lose weight, of course it's a shock to the body ! as a result it goes to the fat source and use it up. When the calories are about equal in your exercise. Your body doesn't see the need to lose weight, it's now comfortable. So we PLATEAU check that out with your dietitian.

If you cut your calories a little more, and throw in some exercise like a walk around the block or somewhere. "walking is a nice, and easy exercise' Your body eventually will jump start again.

Hope this helps, Shirley.

Stop using the scale and start using a tape measure. Muscle weighs more than fat, so while the scale may show an increase or no change, the tape measure may indeed show a loss.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
