Why Don't I Feel Like I am Losing Weight?

Recommended Posts

Hi There Everyone!

Ok here is my deal...

I was banded (still sounds funny to say it that way) on February 10th 2011, and I am down 35 pounds so far. I know this may sound ridiculous to a lot of you...but 35 pounds does not seem like that much to me. Am I just being neurotic? (If you answer yes to that, at least be nice about it lol). I am following the program to a tee and this past weekend I was going to start the gym, however I have a horrid cold. So I will start working out once I feel better. But can anyone lend some feedback on this? Am I where I should be? Anyone? Anyone? Beuller?

Wow! 35 pounds is excellent! I am VERY happy with my weight loss so far and I have lost 26 pounds since being banded on December 29th. Remember you want to aim for 1-2 pounds a week so you are way above that. Keep at it, you are obviously doing something right! Neurotic? Maybe a little.... but aren't we all?

LOL Well thank you! At least you are honest! ;) Thank you for your input! It definitely helps when you have someone else who is going through the same thing! And 1-2 lbs a week is definitely doable! Maybe I should just cut myself a break! LOL Thank you again!!!

My surgeon's team says 1 to 2 pounds a week is where they expect and want bandsters to be. The rapid weight loss you experienced early on was mostly due to liquid diet and restricted calories. Now that you're getting back onto solid foods, it's normal for things to slow down. I totally understand how frustrating it can be after that initial rush of weight loss to have the scale seem like it's frozen. But when you think about it, 2 pounds a week is 104 pounds in a year, right? ;)

Keep up the great work. It sounds like you're right on track. Good luck!

Dave

Dave you completely hit the nail on the head! Its that frustration after the initial rapid weight loss that leaves you scratching your head lol. But thank you so much for the encouraging words! As I replied to my the previous post, it helps having people to relate with!!!

Hi. I was banded on December 21 and I have since gained 3 lbs. I feel no restriction even after 2 fills. Currently I am trying lipovite & B12 injections to help jump start my weight loss. I have not given up so just be patient. My goal for March is 7 lbs. Good luck

35 pounds in a month with no exercise is fabulous. I am 6 month out and am just over 35 pounds lost. You should plan on 1-2 pounds lost per week any more is a bonus.

I know exactly how you feel. My problem is that since I have so much to lose it's like I see the numbers on the scale and that's it. Of course I am glad I am losing, but I am just so anxious to get this weight off of me. I keep telling myself that it didn't come on overnight, so I shouldn't expect it to come off overnight. I am trying not to become so fixated on those numbers and neither should you. Focus more on how you feel and how you look. Are you getting compliments? You probably are! Are you feeling better and doing things you couldn't do before this journey? Probably so! Look at your scale victories as well as your NSVs, you're doing great! Keep up the good work!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
