Russian_BANDit_inNY 4 Posted March 7, 2011 I was very very regular before the band. 2-3 times a day regular ... I did eat a lot :-) Now with the pre-op/post-op diets - it is all liquids for weeks now. I KNOW I don’t eat solids and it would make #2 a rear event or vanishing in my case. Just wondering when will #2 come back? Is it only after I switch to mushy foods?
reverie 49 Posted March 7, 2011 It'll come, wait it out. You're eating drastically less than before, therefore 'going' slows down as well. You can try a mild laxative, but ask your doctor first.
BandedJenny 0 Posted March 7, 2011 I think it took a few days for me. Maybe once I started mushies, but I was told that was normal by my surgeon.
nu2ywg 4 Posted March 7, 2011 It took me 5 days after surgery!! I had a non prescription stool softener and I have since started taking benefibre once a day.
54Shirley 105 Posted March 7, 2011 When you start to eat, you will go. Even the mushes.
Russian_BANDit_inNY 4 Posted March 7, 2011 Thank you for all replies!!! Looking forward to the old good regular days… just with less input and output :-)
fly4kidsrt 1 Posted March 8, 2011 When you receive anesthesia during surgery it slows everything down, including #2. It is not uncommon for things to take up to 5 days or sometimes even longer to resume to normal.
honk 780 Posted March 8, 2011 Flavorless benefiber is very helpful. I added it to all liquids in the early days. Also you can add it to water/crytal light, and cottage/ricotta cheese during mushies.
