rottie69 4 Posted March 3, 2011 I posted this topic in the post op forum too but thought I would like to get some more input form others not banded yet. Hey everyone! I was watching the news about 3 weeks ago and heard a story of a woman who eats a raw food diet. She doesnt eat cooked food at all . So I did some research on this type of eating. I had no idea eating raw even existed. Is there anyone here who has heard of it or knows anyone, or has erven tried it? I did more research and bought a good book on it and im now on day 2 of it. Im doing a 30 day trial to see what its like and how it will affect me health and weight wise. Theres ALOT to it, and the amounts are a little larger and take longer to eat but so far so good. Alot of legumes, nuts, seeds, fruit and veges, and raw dairy, which needs ot be consumed quickly or it will spoil. Hoping the food allergies I struggle with on a daily basis will subside a little. Everythings organic and as fresh as I can get it. Any input on this would be appreciated. Good or bad,,,I want it all! LOL
Serafino 2 Posted March 8, 2011 I had a boss who did this with his wife. He was a raw vegan actually.... He was ridiculously healthy. His lifestyle was very active and he was constantly sprouting dried Beans etc. Last I heard his wife was writing a raw food "cookbook." If you can pull it off - it is an amazing option. ElfiePoo 109 Posted March 9, 2011 Rottie, How are you doing on your raw food diet? Any difficulties with the band at all? .
honk 780 Posted March 9, 2011 One thing I heard about raw food eating is that it can be a concern for the very young and very elderly. Something about raw dairy which if it did have some kind of microbes (not being pasterized) that their systems have trouble fighting. But that is only for a more high risk population. If that's not a concern for you family why not.
