I have a 9 cc relaize band, it has 8.25cc's in and I have restriction but theres not one thing out here that I CANT eat. . Not what I expected from the band but thats ok. I chew my food well and definately take my time eating my meals.

Cunner, I loved the 2nd paragragh of your post,,I can see the bowl and loaf of bread, lol. I did what you did years ago, and went vegetarian and loved it but found I was eating alot of bread, crackers, cheese as well as my veges and fruit. I didnt gain weight, but moved in with a meat and potatoes man,,lol. Im still with him and he is actualy supporting me with the meals im trying. He will NEVER try them,,lol :D ,, but thats ok. I have a great nutritionist, and she said if it works and i dont get ill or have issues regardgin the band and gettting stuck to try it and see how it goes. I beleive she is a vegetarian. But to switch back If I have ANY issues at all.

Protein, I am eating nuts and Beans soaked to soften them. as well as the fresh off the farm dairy products (cheese and milk) There are also veges out there that are a great source of Calcium and Protein both.

Melody, I agree with you on drinking meals. I dont have a problem with that and the recipes I have right now are alot different from what I was using before the surgery and after. I am making everything home made (except for the green powder) and it seemed to hold up very well this morning when I had my first one. I definately dont want to have them all the time. I tried, the other day a 14 grain raw Cereal that was very good with dried cherries and raisins with some chopped walnuts and raw milk.

I am using supplemens as well just to make sure I dont deplete anything.

You guys are great!:)

I will find this link one of my doctors sent me which explains it better and has good info, If I try I won't explain it right and end up under attack :)

Simple answer though: Most of my doctors tell us to use almond, coconut or even soy milk instead and have us steer clear of Protein powders that are dairy based. Also something about not really getting the Calcium believed to be the benefit of milk......My daughter was actually quite sick with respiratory issues until she was 4...when I decided enough is enough....stopped her meds and took away the milk--she was better in 48 hours. Has never gone back. My skin is better when I don't consume dairy.....but I'm not trying to tell you what to do! These are just my observations and what I've been told....Because we find my family is better without milk and dairy, I tend to think there is some truth in this.....Of course, we still eat eggs and some cheese but try to keep it limited, never drink milk....wow sorry that was long

Hi there,

Why is dairy bad for you? I'm vegetarian and use organic humane dairy products as a source of Protein. I've always known things like cottage cheese to be good sources of nutrition and protein.

Just wondering if I am missing something here...

Have you been tested for a dairy allergy? Maybe that might be a source of the problem.

I used soy Protein powder during my post op stage because I had a hard time finding a humane whey Protein Powder. I'm not a huge dairy eater but I do eat cheese occasionally. So many doctors seems to advocate cottage cheese as a complete Protein that I am really surprised to find out that some say dairy is bad. I wonder if it is the hormones in dairy products - which should be obviated by using organic products.

I'd like to see the link when you find it. I'm super conscious about what I put in my body these days.. rolleyes.gif

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
