Unfill. What is the cost?

Recommended Posts

I think I am needing a slight unfill. Most of the time, it can be hard to eat. I didn't know if it cost anything to get an unfill? It doesn't matter because I think I may need one, but I was curious.

I hope maybe .10 taken out will help tremendously. Also, any advice from those who have had one? This is my first time getting an unfill.

Thanks!

I've never had one, but I would guess the cost would be the same.

I've been lucky. My doc has not charged me for an unfill.

I was thinking they wouldn't charge me for it, but I don't know. I had a year of 'free' fills, and the last fill I got was my last 'free' one so we shall see. I hope it isn't much.

I had an unfill one time. For some reason my insurance only paid part of it. They will pay full for a fill though.

If filing a claim with insurance, technically the codes are the same whether Fluid is inserted or removed, and lawfully the fees should not be different. HOWEVER This doesn't mean the individual doctor isn't offering some special pricing or billing as an office visit so the fee is lower. Basically you should ask the office for their policy and price for an unfill :)

Just taking a tiny bit out can make a huge difference. My Dr. does not charge for unfills.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
