I keep a journal of 1200 calories "that's for a woman", and 60G of Protein a day.

You can eat what you want to fill up like sugar free puddings, yogurt, cottage cheese,

whatever it takes to keep you a little happy.

Understand,, sometime it's head hunger, and try not to give into that, because eventually it will start to get less, and less.

If your really hungry have a cup of the sugar free pudding, that helps me a lot. you can buy instant with more flavors, and put them in desert cups. I did when I first started out. Also do you have a lite Protein Shake? Muscle Milk makes a excellent variety. You can use 1/2 the Water, and freeze the muscle milk, it's not bad. But 1200 calories is quite a bit of food. You can go on line to calorie counter, and choose calorie king. Enter your food and get your calories, and protein totals from there. Or books if you want to look the stuff up.

Hope this helps, follow this and your Dr. should be happy. Get back if you need to.

Shirley.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
