To be blunt, Im ready to go anytime and anywhere. WHY and is this hapening to you? it can be anoying while at work. Is this normal?

Well I'm the same way lately. Dh told me last night that I need to start putting the kids to bed earlier if I was going to keep this up. :blushing:

Same here, I'm definitely more confident when it comes to sex as well. My boyfriend isn't complaining but the urges could definitely get a bit annoying sometimes.

I guess it's just another NSV to celebrate! :P

( I guess you'll have to look back to your teen years to figure out what to do in that work situation)

Wow, I wish I had that. I have done the complete opposite. I have lost 107 pounds in 9 months and now at goal. I noticed the more I lost, the less I wanted sex. I think all my stretched out skin and smaller chest have something to do with it. But I was also hiding behind my fat because I was abused as a child and I don't know how to react to all the extra attention based on my smaller body.

My husband will be ecstatic to hear about this possibility!

@mom2 - maybe you just need some time to adjust to a new body image? Give yourself time and big congrats on the great weight loss!

Maybe I should use this as a 'selling point' to my hubby, because right now he isn't very supportive of any WLS. :P

Good idea, but don't use it as a selling point unless you are sure you will deliver.:) (more sex that is)

My doctor told me to expect the same thing to happen! He said sleep and sex drive will both greatly improve (I hadn't complained about either one!) so I guess it's par for the course. rolleyes.gif

????? Hormones? From what? Eating more hormone injected chicken? LOL

Isn't it more likely because you're just feeling better about yourself? :)

fat cells produce estrogen, and having excess estrogen lowers your sex drive (it's actually more complicated than that, but that's the gist of it).

Guys who are bigger often have low testosterone levels, which is easily treated by testosterone therapy (it does more than just balance your sex drive, but that's an added bonus). You can get it either through a gel, which you apply to the skin every day, a patch, a weekly injection, or a pellet that you get implanted every 4-6 months. I have low testosterone (not related to being overweight, it's a congenital thing, so i will need to be treated for it even after I lose all the weight)--I took weekly injections for a long time because they are much more affordable, but recently got the pellet implant which my urologist did in-office with a local anesthetic--it was painless and is great because I only have to think about a couple times a year.

I have no idea about how higher estrogen levels due to higher percentages of body fat in women effect their sex drive (I just know so much about the male stuff since I've had to deal with it personally--I have heard that higher estrogen levels can increase your risk of breast cancer, but most people know that). You'd have to talk to an endocrinologist, but low sex drive could be related to a hormonal thing. and I do know women are supposed to have some amount of testosterone, which, if it's being drowned out by higher estrogen levels, could be responsible for a lack of sex drive--you can have your PCP do bloodwork to check your hormone levels and if they are abnormal, discuss options to level out your hormones (which could help your sex drive)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
