Liquid Percocet and Throwing up

Recommended Posts

I am 3 days out and taking the liquid Percocet every 4 hours on a relatively empty stomach due to clear liquid diet. First I noticed the reflux them slimming then I threw up and boy was it painful. I am switching to liquid Tylenol due to this and wondered if anyone else found relief from this type of pain meds. I called my Dr and they think taking the Tylenol will be better...any options?

I threw up my liquid Lortab so doc had me take regular Lortab cut up.

Good luck-- I know how it feels to have your pain meds put you in more pain. it sucks.

Narcotics can cause nausea and vomiting, it is one of their more charming side effects. People can also be sensitive to the suspension liquids (which tend to be super sweetand sugary). If you can tolerate the Tylenol alone it will be much easier on your stomach. pills are usually easier because they tend to dissolve in the duodenum rather than the stomach, it is getting them down that is hard. Don't crush them, that can be dangerous, but you can break them in half. Hope you feel better!
