Eating more after my fill! What is the deal!!

Recommended Posts

So I just got my first fill last Friday I’m currently at 3cc. I don’t think it helped at all! I feel like I’m hungrier now than before, can this really be happening?! I ate a whole Jimmy Johns sandwich two days after the fill (I wasn’t testing it out … I was just that hungry!!)

You obviously haven't gotten any restriction yet...your next fill you will have to be careful and cut back or you will get stuck. I feel pretty confident you will finally experience the band with your next fill. I got 3cc and then 4 wks later got 1.5cc and started to have restriction and I have to be very careful.

Best wishes, Mimi

I have been doing very conservative fills...I only had 1cc until today. My doctor was so surprised I actually lost another 5 lbs because I virtually had no restriction in my 14cc size band. He told me that he would have guessed that I would have gained since I had no trouble eating anything I wanted.

But I'm learning Portion Control and the band is giving me willpower to choose food wisely. I love that I can eat my favorite foods and not worry about getting stuck. I want to eat like a thin, healthy person so when my body is that size, my brain will already be trained! Also, I'm worried about sagging skin so I'm hoping by taking pounds off slowly will help me not sag!

Good luck to everyone. :D

Good thinking! Congrats on realizing it's a head game as well.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
