I am interested to do Lap Band

Hi everyone

My name is Nilou and I live in San Ramon, Ca. I am interested to do Lap Band surgery and I am still learning about it. I am sure alot of your stories and advises are going to be so useful for me and insprational. I am 34, married with 2 kids. I am 221 pounds and about 5' 3''. I want to be 115.

I am still researching for a good doctor around here and also I am not sure if I am qualified for the surgery. Any feedback is very appreciate it.

Welcome! At 221 lbs and 5'3", I'm sure you'd qualify -- your BMI is 39.14. Will your insurance cover? You might pop into the California section and ask what docs people used who live in your area if you haven't picked one yet.

Welcome! I found this site very helpful - lots of good info - My BMI was 39, so very little more than yours and I was qualified no prob. Read lots on this board and research your surgeon. Best of luck!
