amberakamom 13 Posted February 22, 2011 Ok, so I have been having these pains since Weds., about 6 days now. I've been hoping it's just gas or a new kind of period cramps or something, but 6 days of this seems like a long time. On a scale from 1-10, this is a 9 on the pain scale. It feels like realllly bad gas pains, almost like labor. I get it in the lower left, and right abdomen, and it's also vaginal and rectal. Weird, I know. It's like being stabbed! Also, it's never in more than one spot at a time. It isn't consistent. Sometimes it is there for a few hours, sometimes it's just one stabbing pain for 5 seconds. Has anyone experienced this? I am almost 4 weeks post-op. If it's still bothering me tomorrow, I'm going to go in to the doctor.
ThisMumRocks 1 Posted February 22, 2011 i do have some pains like that BUT the vaginal and rectal pains i do not and that sounds more to me like a nerve pain to me like when i had staples from my c-section when they would hit a nerve i thought i was gonna DIE! good luck tho! spoiltmom 44 Posted February 22, 2011 Are you sure it's not gas pains?
amberakamom 13 Posted February 22, 2011 No, I'm not sure. I HOPE that's what it is, and that's why I haven't gone to the doc.
amberakamom 13 Posted February 22, 2011 Also bowel movements have been difficult.
JMinDallas 1 Posted February 22, 2011 try taking benefiber on a regular basis. I would get those pains at times too, and realized I hadn't had a bowel movement for several days. Once I started taking the benefiber in with my hot liquid in the mornings (about 2-3 wks ago) I've noticed a big improvement.
nomorejellybelly 77 Posted February 23, 2011 I think you need to go to the doctor as soon as possible, if your pains are that bad.
Jachut 487 Posted February 23, 2011 Get it checked out - please. I had intermittent (very intermittent) bowel cramping that felt exactly like labour from just after I was banded. I had no other symptoms, just occasionally (like maybe once every six months) , when having a BM this cramping would start and I'd be on the toilet for hours, cold sweats and sometimes vomiting, it was that bad. Just like labour or really bad diarrhoea. Skip forward a few years and I started having frequency and clusters of BM's and a feeling like I wasnt finished, also the very occasional cramping. I got it checked out finally and I had rectal cancer, a huge tumour. Your symptoms DONT sound like mine, so I wouldnt be alarmed but I also wouldnt leave it. I could have checked this out five years ago - well I did talk to the doctor but we decided that as endometriosis is in my family, that's probably what it was. Would have been a simple operation, take out the small polyp and be done with it, instead I've lost my rectum, have an ileostomy, am having chemo etc. It just isnt worth leaving any problem unchecked. Humming Bird 275 Posted February 23, 2011 I do hope you go have it checked out with a Dr. ASAP. It could just be hemorhoids. I have had some of the pain you talk about with hemorhoids, but you really can't go by what people tell you about here. You really need to have a Dr. check it out.
