Adrea 0 Posted February 21, 2011 I have my first consultation with the surgeon in the morning, I am scared and excited at the same time, I am hoping he will tell me something positive, like yeah I think there is a chance tricare will approve you, haha what are the chances of that happening. What should I expect tomorrow? At the seminar I don't remember them saying anything about what they do at the appointment. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TRICARE BE NICE AND APPROVE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cocoabean 430 Posted February 21, 2011 At mine, they took my height, weight, blood pressure. The did a thorough medical history. Gave me an extensive list of tests I needed to have run. The surgeon and I had a long discussion about bypass and band and why I wanted a band. We discussed the pros and cons of each procedure. From there I went to the lab and got that ball rolling. I had to schedule with the nutritionist, go to a couple of support and education meetings, do the psych eval. Then when that was all done they submitted to my insurance. It took about a month to get my approval (it was during the holidays). Did my pre-op appointment and diet, pre-op class and appointment at the hospital, surgery and done. Ok, a bit more than you asked, but there you have it! I don't know much about Tricare, tho.
Adrea 0 Posted February 21, 2011 Well what I found out was unless I have sleep apnea then thats the end of it, they won't even submit to tricare because I don't meet the requirements without a comorb so they are scheduling me for a sleep study so I sadly hope I have Sleep Apnea. They aren't going to schedule any of the other tests until they see if I have it
