Call your doc's office and see what they say. Mine said 2 wks I could do cardio, arms, legs, but 4 wks for abs/core because of the abdominal incisions needing to heal completely.

Everyones Doc is different. I was on the treadmill doing inclined power walking the first week. Then I was given to to for eliptal and other cardio things just no weights.

You prolly should ask your doctor before you start exercise program. But I will tell you that even though it is hard for me to quit making excuse and just do it, yo have to exercise! I was banded the end of April 2010. I have lost 55 lbs. I have lost 18 just since Jan. The three months before that, nothing! I was introduced to Jillian Micheals DVDs and she is great! That is the real key. Our band is just a tool and I know it even though my mind often wants me to lay on the couch. I keep telling myself...

eat less move more! Good Luck!:)

Agree for sure. I'm 3 weeks post banding. Was so frustrated the first couple weeks because I lost initially then gained a couple back when i started mushies but now i'm back on track. I wasn't exercising and my calories were always below 900. Now i keep my calories around 1100 and exercise. The key is definitely the exercising. And it doesn't have to be much - a 30 minute walk everyday has me losing. It's awesome. I'm down 14 pounds now and feel like there is no stopping me. My doctor also cleared me for the stationary bike and treadmill but no weights until 8 weeks out.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
