dianeinva 0 Posted February 18, 2011 How can the inches drop but not the pounds? I was banded 5 weeks ago and have cut down on my calories, increased my Protein to at least 60 grams/day, trying to get in plenty of fluids, but will admit that I probably fall short on getting in all of my Water. I haven't started to exercise yet, BUT... I haven't dropped any weight in the last 2 weeks, and I had only lost 9 lbs up to that point. I have measured and there have been some decreases in inches, but I don't understand if I'm not losing pounds/ounces, then how can I be shrinking inches? The disappointment I feel with such a huge decrease in calories and no weight loss is tremendous!! Any thoughts?
Kalipso2 25 Posted February 18, 2011 i don't know why but it does happen! i can weigh the same for a week but go down a size in jeans. it's frustrating, but the scale will eventually move!
vlp1968 83 Posted February 18, 2011 Frankly I don't understand what your so upset about. The point is to be smaller isn't it? Your loosing inches and that is the important thing. We want to be smaller, not neccesarily lighter. Because of the increase in protien, you may be building some muscle. One pound of muscle takes up much less room on the body than one pound of fat. Also, start excersising for sure. It will help make that scale move for sure. There are just too many benefits to pass it up. Best wishes!

zeniada 9 Posted February 19, 2011 I have this problem too.... I so desperatly want the scale to drop that i forget that size is a better way of knowing if I'm losing i mean people see the size you are before they ask (if they are bold enough) how much you lost. 2 ravendays and Melissannde reacted to this
