Dr. Spiegel is a FRAUD

I have had a terrible experience with Dr. Felix Spiegel (after travelling out of state to see him I might add) and especially with his nurse Melisa who is the rudest and most unprofessional person I have met in some time.

What really got my back up was when I saw Dr. Spiegel and Melisa embracing in the back of the hallway as I was coming out of his presentation! Isn't he married to that loud woman with the bleached hair? ???????

What kind of place are they running anyway? I would appreciate if anyone else had similar experiences would tell me. I think the state should be warned about him.

Evelyn

I think you are wrong for coming on this board with this. We have no idea who you are and you join and your very first post is to slander a doctor! You sound like a person with a personal problem that is trying to ruin this man.

If you have a legitimate beef and you want to warn people about him and his medical standards, please do so but bring your proof. Anything else is you just on here gossiping.

Thankfully, we know each other pretty well, and can tell when something is fishy. I would be very careful about posting something on a public forum that could be traced back to me and for which I could be sued.

This posting does seem to be about nothing more than a personal opinion about something non-surgery related. The moderators have agreed that it should be locked.

Evelyn, if you have anything to say about Dr. Speigel's office or medical approach that is not gossip, we'd be happy to hear it. This thread is over.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
